Thescorre Business meeting, 6/21/05
Devon & Daedra's house
Katja, running the meeting for Steffan
25 Thescorreans present

1. Coronation Bid
Pleasance presented her bid to autocrat Coronation on September 24 at the Bergen Fire Hall.

The site is very close to the LeRoy exit off I-90.
After describing the site in detail (two parking lots, a large field, big kitchen) and some of the planned activities (Sylvan Bard Competition and Queen's Rapier Championship), Pleasance offered three fee schedules for consideration.

After some discussion, those present settled on $8 site fee and $8 feast cost for adults, with $3 site and $4 feast for children 13 and under for an expected profit of $988 (half of which would go to the kingdom).

The feast is limited to 120 people, and Katja & Grendel are planning a period Greek meal in honor of His Highness Robin's persona. Colette & Dubheasa agreed to do a Roman lunch. Mateo is tollner.

The bid passed 20-1-0.

2. Officer Reports
Baron & Baroness: Peregrine reminded everyone that ORF polls are due. Thescorre is guarding the AE Royal gate on Thursday of War Week.

Seneschal: Steffan is cruising Alaska. Let's all be jealous of him.

Katja will finish the 2nd Quarter seneschal report this week.... holy cow! We've had a lot of demos!
Makes my job harder. <grin>

Rapier: Speaking for Yasmina, Grendel said thanks for the spiffy new loaner gear jackets and showed off one of them.

Heavy Weapons: Spyke requested $275 for new rattan for loaner gear. The request passed 22-2-0.

Thrown Weapons: Timothy has practice again on Sunday afternoons, as well as Thursday nights, at his and Alison's home.

A&S and Chatelaine: Sigvaldi, Kadlin, and Dubheasa did a great demo in Brockport. Siggy asked for some money to build a new/additional demo box since the existing one is fairly large and small things rattle around in the bottom. He asked to have a second box with interior shelves or drawers.

Katja called in Devon from the porch and asked him how much money he'd need from the barony to build one and would he be willing to do it? After thinking a moment, he suggested $25 for the wood.

The funds request passed 22-3-1 (Ulric voted against the request, yelping that "He'll make me help build
it!")

Siggy also suggested that we make plans to get more college students involved in the group, and asked for ideas on upcoming demos or other activities at the many nearby schools.

Chirurgeon: As he had mentioned at previous meeting, Phillipe needs to replace the old first aid kit. Plus, he'd like to raise donations for an additional item, an automatic blood pressure/vitals sensor. His request for $150 was approved 20-2-0, and several folks gave him ideas on fundraising.

Herald: The Ravens Tongue term is up in January, Matilda noted.

Exchequer: We have $2,471.86 in checking and $1,055.43 in savings, Alina reported. I need a deputy.

3. Guilds
The Cooks Guild met last month to make vigil cookies; Bryn is in Colorado for a food history symposium!

Middle Eastern Drumming & Dance is still happening on the first and third Wednesdays, although Katja is not dancing right now.

Carlo plans to teach juggling at the Bardic/Juggling event and at Pax.

Eldjarn will lead Western dance practice on 6/22 for Peregrine.

The Scriptorium is still scribing.... Spyke asked if some of the scribes could do some tourney scrolls for him for Pax, and Colette immediately agreed.

The Threadworkers will meet at Orianna's on 7/10 at 1 p.m.

4. Miscelleaneous

Marighread asked for some funds to buy material for Pennsic marshal tabards that the barony's youth fighters are making and donating. The request passed 19-2-0.
